Shah visits families of slain militants

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah on Sunday visited the residences of the five militants who were slain in a gun battle with troops on January 16 in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The five militants were killed in a gunfight with armed forces in Gadar forests of Keller area in Shopian district.
Shah along with JKLF-R chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bita Karatey, Muslim League’s Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo and others visited the family members and expressed sympathies and solidarity with them, a statement said.
It said that in Pakharpora, the leaders took out a procession to the slain militants’ graveyard and offered fateha.
“Now, it is our responsibility to take forward their mission as we are the guardians of their precious sacrifices, and we’ll not rest till we take their mission to the logical conclusion,” the statement quoted Shah as saying.
