SRINAGAR: About 35,970 accounts have been opened under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) in south Kashmir’s Shopian district till date.
The information was given in a review meeting convened by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) concerned, an official handout issued here said Friday.
It said the J&K Bank, State Bank of India, and Punjab National Bank have achieved their targets set as per SLBC Survey data of 2011.
“The deposits of Rs 8.15 crores have been accounted. The banks have also issued 83 RuPay Debit Cards so far,” it added.
As many as 36 awareness camps were organized to achieve the targets, it said.
