Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement party activists Tuesday held a protest here against government of India’s (GoI) proposed move to rehabilitate the West Pakistan refugees in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, a party spokesman said that scores of party leaders and activists staged a protest at Press enclave in Lal Chowk.
He said the members of the party’s women wing also participated in the protest.
Later on, the spokesman said, party secretary women wing Ruqaya Bhaji while talking to the media said that GoI can’t settle these refugees in J&K as “it is a disputed territory.”
She said that any move “to change the demography” will not be allowed.
The spokesman said that the leaders urged people resist this “sinister move.”
