DG A&T concerned over delay in computerisation

SRINAGAR: Director General Accounts and Treasuries (A&T), Altaf Hasan Mirza, Tuesday asked the officials to work for computerisation of the treasuries.
According to an official handout issued here, Mirza gave the directions to the concerned authorities in a meeting of all district treasuries and city treasury officers of Jammu province.
Mirza told the meeting that “efficient functioning of the treasury reflects good image of the government,” the handout said. He emphasized the need for “strict adherence to the norms, guidelines, instructions issued by the government from time to time,” it said.
He also spoke about some of the important issues concerning the treasuries, including “the long pending implementation of computerisation of the treasuries,” it added.
“He enquired from NIC the latest status of computerisation in Jammu province. He pulled up the district treasury officers who are lagging behind in computerization of their treasuries, and showed displeasure on the performance of NIC,” it said.
He, it said, emphasized upon all the DTOs to have “complete liaison with their sub-treasuries and ensure successful implementation of treasury net application without any further delay.”
“He advised all the treasury officers to strictly adhere to the instruction and guidelines issued by the Finance department from time to time, adding that violations if noticed shall be dealt sternly,” it said.
