SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Rohit Kansal Monday convened a meeting of the divisional level officers to monitor availability and supply of essentials including Kerosene, LPG, and food grains in the Valley.
“Divisional Commissioner enjoined upon the officers to ensure smooth supply and availability of essentials to the consumers at the government prescribed rates, and directed for intensifying market checks to curb black marketing, profiteering, and hoarding of essential commodities,” an official handout issued here said.
Kansal directed all the deputy commissioners to monitor the distribution of essentials such as kerosene, LPG, and food grains to the consumers, it said.
He asked them to furnish regular reports in this regard, and said that stern action shall be taken against those involved in black marketing and hoarding, the handout said.
Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Budgam, and Ganderbal districts, and Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department were also present in the meeting, it said.
