SRINAGAR: A daylong awareness camp for progressive pisciculture farmers was organised Monday at Fisheries office Gangoo in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Progressive farmers of Pulwama and Shopian districts participated in the camp.
On the occasion Chief Project Officer Fisheries deliberated on the aspects of programme, saying, “The department has made various initiatives available for the private fish farmers to develop their Carp and Trout fish ponds to generate their livelihood.”
He urged the educated unemployed youth to come forward for establishing their own trout fish farms for income generation, “as the department is providing 100 per cent subsidy for it.”
“The department is determined to provide all facilities to private fish farmers and financial assistance for establishing their income generating units,” he added. The experts made the farmers aware about the modern trends involved in the entrepreneurship programme.
