SRINAGAR: Army Sunday organised a career counseling programme at Haiderbeg in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
“The seminar was organised under the aegis of Chinar Corps by the Rashtriya Rifles unit based at Haiderbeg Pattan,” the army said in a press statement issued here.
It said the participating youth interacted with army and administrative officers “to get firsthand knowledge to qualify in the national and state level competitive examinations.”
“Brigadier Alok Naresh and IAS officer Dr Shah Faisal interacted with the unemployed youths of different villages and delivered a lecture on career counseling,” it said.
Army and the officers shared their experiences and provided “necessary guidance to avail government jobs in various departments,” the army said.
It said over 1500 students from Pattan, Palhallan, Yadipora, Chanderhama, Ussan, Nihalpora, Goshbugh, Khanpeth, Batpora, and other villages participated in the programme.
“On the occasion Brigadier Alok Naresh and Dr Shah Faisal presented a ‘Best Student Trophy’ to be given to the college for all-round performance of the best student each year,” it added.
