Milad celebrations conclude

Srinagar: Thousands of devotees gathered at the revered Hazratbal shrine here on the occasion of Friday following Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
People thronged the shrine throughout the day to have a glimpse of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) which was displayed after every prayer.
However, the biggest gathering was witnessed during the congregational Friday prayers when many thousand people converged at the shrine and its adjacent sprawling lawns along the banks of Dal Lake. People offered ‘Durud’ and recited the Holy Qur’an.
Besides Hazratbal, congregational prayers were also held at Asarisharif Kalashpora, Jenab Sahib Soura, Lal Bazaar, Punjura Shopian, Khiram Sirhama Anantnag, Seer Hamadan, Kaba Marg, Qaimoh, Ahamshrief Bandipora and Hazrat Janbaz Wali (RA) Baramulla. Nightlong prayers were held across the Valley where clerics threw light on the life of the Prophet(SAW).
Hundreds of private transport vehicles and State Road Transport Corporation buses ferried the devotees to and fro from Hazratbal while the authorities had enforced different traffic plan to ensure smooth movement.
Also in place were arrangements including erection of tents for medical aid at several places en route Hazratbal.
