Srinagar: Unknown persons attacked the house of a sarpanch, who also contested the recent Assembly polls, with a petrol bomb in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said Wednesday.
The bomb was hurled on the house of Bashir Ahmad Malik in Hakripora village on Tuesday night, a police officer said.
The attack caused minor damage to the house, the official said.
Malik, who unsuccessfully contested the elections as an independent candidate, was not present in the house at the time of the attack.
The sarpanch was associated with the PDP but parted ways with the party on poll eve, reports said.
