DG CRPF visits Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Director General (DG) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Prakash Mishra is on his maiden-two day visit to Kashmir, a CRPF spokesperson said Wednesday.
In a statement , the spokesperson said on 6th January, a brief about the stock of situation in Kashmir Valley was given to him by K.S. Bhandari, the Inspector General of CRPF in Srinagar Sector.
“Later he visited the units deployed in north Kashmir Districts of Sopore and Kupwara. In the evening he had interaction with the CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police officers of Srinagar. Today he visited the unit deployed in the downtown area of Srinagar,” the spokesperson said.
The DG CRPF interacted with the officer and men on the ground and appreciated the efforts of CRPF in containing militancy and effectively handling the law and order situation in the valley.
“He also appreciated all the officers and men for conducting successful assembly election in Jammu & Kashmir,” the spokesperson said, adding: “He was accompanied by special DG Jammu and Kashmir Zone R.C. Tayal, IGP (operations) Zulfiquar Hasan and IG KS Bhandari.”
