Srinagar: Help Poor Voluntary Trust (HPVT) has replaced 39 patient care trolleys and 27 wheel chairs at four Valley hospitals.
The initiative was taken to replace the medical equipment destroyed in the September 2014 floods, a spokesman said.
In a statement, the spokesman said that at accident and emergency Unit, SMHS Hospital with HPVT donated 23 patient care trolleys and 10 wheel chairs for the said Unit after Principal GMC & Associated Hospitals Dr Rafiq Ahmad Pampori inaugurated restart of wheel chair and trolley service on Saturday.
He said that Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, Medical Superintendent, LD hospital dedicated 10 wheel chairs and 04 trolleys to people donated by HPVT at L.D Hospital’s free Wheel Chair and Trolley Service Unit.
Similarly, he said, Medical Superintendent, G.B Pant Children Hospital Dr. Muneer Masoodi also dedicated two wheel chairs and two trolleys for the HPVT free wheel Chair and trolley Service Unit.
The spokesman said that HPVT has been running 24X7 free wheel chair and trolley service for indoor and outdoor patients at valley’s almost all hospitals for the past over four years now. “In addition, HPVT provides free medication to over 1200 poor and needy patients suffering from cancer, renal failure, seizure, epilepsy, neuro-psychiatric and other disorders besides emergency medication,” he added
The spokesman said that HPVT was also running pharmacy outlet on concessional rates titled Shehluth Pharmacy at HPVT headquarters at Haft Chinar.
