Bukhari asks SMC to make clock tower functional within week

SRINAGAR: PDP’s MLA from Amirakadal, Altaf Bukhari Saturday asked Srinagar Mu¬nicipal Corporation to make historic clock-tower at Lal Chowk here function¬al within a week.
Bukhari issued the instructions dur¬ing a meeting of SMC’s officers, accord¬ing to party statement issued here.
He also emphasized on beautifica¬tion of the city center and all the pave¬ments leading to its adjoining vicinities.
The meeting was convened to take stock of various developmental works and public utility issues regarding his constituency.
Bukhari also asked the Commis¬sioner SMC to convene a two-day camp in the worst flood affected places of Amirakadal so as to provide on spot building permissions to the victims.
He also impressed upon the officers to accelerate the pace of works executed at various places of the constituency which include construction of commu¬nity halls, public facilitation centers, drains and public lavatories.
Bukhari also laid emphasis on com¬pletion of works that have been started by the previous dispensation and are currently in progress.
“The Corporation has performed excellently before floods and earned laurels for its commendable job af¬ter the devastating floods that hit Kashmir. This spirit needs to be car¬ried on and the all the circles of the corporation must put in their best to serve the people,” he said.
