Srinagar: Army and the officials of civil administration Friday met at South Kashmir’s Wuzur cantonment to assess disaster management preparedness for the winter, an army spokesman said Friday.
“The area is avalanches prone, so both army and civil administration discussed utilization of resources to ensure synchronized application of efforts in any disaster,” the spokesman said in a statement.
He said that the meeting was presided over by corps commander Chinar Corps, Lt Gen Subrata Saha.
He said that meeting was also attended by DC Anantnag, Kulgam, DIG (SKR) and SSPs of Anantnag, Kulgam. GOC, Victor Force, Commander, 2 Sector and Commanding Officer, 9 RR. Paramilitary forces were represented by Comdt 24 Bn CRPF and 163 Bn CRPF, he added.
The spokesman said that officials of Beacon, responsible for snow clearance were also present.
