TeH distributes relief worth Rs 2.75 crore among flood-hit

Srinagar: Syed Ali Geelani led Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Thursday said that it has distributed relief material worth Rs 2.75 crore among the flood –hit victims of Kashmir.
In a statement, party chairman said, “We distributed cheques worth Rs 85 lakh, 10 lakh in cash, food items worth Rs 1 crore 32 lakh, bedding and clothing worth 34 lakh and medicines worth 14 lakh rupees.”
He said that the donations and the alms were donated by the well-off people from the valley. “We have handed over these donations to the deserving persons and if the people continue to donate, we will distribute also with honesty,” he said addressing a group of flood-hit people at a function held at the Hyderpora office.
Later on, the statement said, cheques worth Rs 50 thousand were distributed among the deserving people from district Baramullah, Bandipora, Pulwama and Srinagar.
