SRINAGAR: Sheep Husbandry department organised series of awareness programmes for sheep farmers in various flood-affected areas of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district in Dec ember.
In a press statement issued here, it said the teams of the department inspected Ganastan, Inderkote, Nowgam, Tularzoo, Trigam, Shadipore, Shilwat and other parts of Sumbal area in the ditrict.
“They informed the sheep-rearing farmers about the diseases and the conditions affecting the livestock after the floods. These farmers were well guided about the post flood concerns and precautionary measures to be taken,” it said.
“Advisories were given on post-flood management of livestock in order to reap maximum benefits,” it added.
Free of cost medicines were distributed among the farmers in the camps held under supervision of local authorities, the statement said.
