Will withdraw cases against stone pelting youths: Aalam

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party senior leader and candidate for Khanyar constituency Mohammad Khurshid Aalam Sunday said that the cases against stone pelting youths should be withdrawn.
In a statement Aalam said that he would put his personal efforts in withdrawing the cases against local youth of Khanyar. “In case people elect me to Assembly, I promise you to restore honour and dignity of inhabitants. I will put my best efforts to withdraw the cases against our local youth, allegedly involved in stone pelting cases,” he said.
Addressing a public rally at Khanyar, he said, “The traditional politicians have been exploiting this constituency. This is time for change and people have to exercise their right to franchise with caution as in ongoing historical elections the people are choosing their fate for next six years.”
He said the sitting MLA of Khanyar constituency “enjoyed wazwan in Jammu in 2008 and 2010 when the local youths were brutally killed in police and paramilitary actions.”
“Do they have any conscience? The fact is that they only appear during elections at the public places to seek votes and disappear after being electing to Assembly. I am not among them, our leader Mufti Muhammad Sayeed has a mission to serve people and you have to provide us that opportunity,” he said.
He said that officials would be made accountable, freedom of press, right to live with honour and dignity and right to livelihood would be put into force.
“PDP members in Assembly will not act as babus and ministers but would be serving people at large,” Aalam added.
