Will withdraw all cases against youths: PDP’s Karra

SRINAGAR: Senior leader of PDP and Member Parliament, Tariq Hameed Karra, Sunday said his party will withdraw all cases against youths of the city, if voted to power.
“We will not only withdraw all the cases against the youth, but also ensure their overall welfare,” Karra said in a statement.
He urged youths of the city to “join the movement for change” and help PDP “to end the exploitive era of NC’s deceitful politics”.
Karra said the city would be developed as a “smart city” if PDP comes to power.
“The era of exploitative politics is over in Srinagar, which suffered systematic exploitation over the past 60 years at the hands of those who have represented it,” he said.
“Srinagar, if developed and projected properly, can compete with the best developed cities in the world,” he added.
PDP, he said, in its brief tenure tried to change the development discourse in the city and also ushered in a “new era of development” by putting in place “rapid transport and drainage system”.
Accusing the National Conference of taking city for granted, he said, “NC, by calling Srinagar its bastion, is simply adding insult to the injury of the youths who have faced maximum brunt of its cruelty and callousness.”
Stating that the state government failed to implement various developmental schemes in the city, he said, “Even the Asian Development Bank-funded projects for reconstruction have been derailed though they could have contributed significantly to the sanitation of the city.”
