SRINAGAR: The National Conference general secretary and candidate from Khanyar assembly constituency Ali Mohammad Sagar Sunday said his party was “poised to script a historic triumph” in the ongoing polls.
“The NC had transformed Shehar-e-Khaas into a city that showcases our cultural, centrality, and historicity, while also demonstrating a spirit of modernity and new state-of-the-art public infrastructure,” Sagar said, according to a statement, in public meetings held in the constituency.
He said there were “clear attempts to launch a political onslaught on the state’s special status and state subject law”, but “NC will never allow any political force to succeed in these designs”.
Sagar said the party has always worked for “the interests of the people” and had left “no stone unturned to empower them rather than using power as a tool of manipulation as is the tendency of parties like BJP, Congress, and PDP”.
Meanwhile, NC’s candidate from Habba Kadal, Shameema Firdous, addressed various meetings of workers in the constituency, the statement said.
