SRINAGAR: Representatives of various tour operator associations and hotelier clubs on Saturday called on Chief Secretary, Mohammad Iqbal Khandey, here at the Winter Secretariat.
The representatives highlighted several issues confronting the industry post floods, seeking early restoration of the damaged tourism infrastructure and rehabilitation of stakeholders, whose properties and business got affected due to the floods.
The members demanded support of the government in order for the tourism industry to resume back its normal activities and business.
Khanday during the meet said that he was aware problems and assured the members full support. He said measures are underway for the restoration of damaged tourism infrastructure across the State especially in Srinagar city.
Adding that publicity and promotional campaigns have been launched to dispel misinformation and woo tourists for visit to the picturesque valley and enjoy their stay here. The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah also was part of the meeting.
