KCCI hails Arun Jaitely for extending IT return deadline

Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc) appreciated the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely for accepting the request for extension of IT returns.
In a statement issued here it expressed satisfaction over the move. It said that  Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, President, KCCI had a meeting  with Union Finance Minister,  Arun Jaitly  at his Parliament Office on  28th of November and among other things he discussed with him the urgent need of extending the date for filing  of Income Tax return.
Later, Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes early on Friday in its latest order said that considering the devastation due to floods in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, under exercise of powers conferred under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (`Act’) and in continuation to the earlier order under section 119 of the Act dated 16.09.2014, hereby further extends the ‘due date’ of furnishing return of income from 30th November, 2014 to 31st March, 2015.
