SRINAGAR: J&K Central Non Gazetted Electrical Employees Union JKCNGEEU has called for bringing accountability in fund management of its Employees Welfare Fund.
In a letter to the Principal Secretary Power Development Department (PDD), it has raised apprehensions over the non introduction of group insurance scheme by the fund managing committee saying this omission of essential clause has hit overall management with the government contribution still not .
In a statement issued the Union said that this weak approach in management and lack of vision of the concerned authorities has defeated the basic purpose of the fund to a great extent as it resources are limited only to contribution of subscriber members alone.
It has called to make this fund effective and purposeful particularly in the death /disability/ and injury cases, Clause(c) of Rule 4 that prescribed for covering the employees under group insurance scheme.
The fund according to Union was in 2008 with the resources of for the fund sourced from contribution by member, voluntary donations, besides government contribution under Rule-2 of the fund.
The Union has asked for updating details of accounts and number of subscriber members for information of all the concerned.
It has also asked for allocation of government contribution if pending, so that the flood affected subscriber members are suitably granted financial help out of the welfare fund.
