Qazigund: Congress rally cancelled as Azad’s chopper fails to land

ANANTNAG: Supporters of Congress leader and former MLC Mohammad Amin Bhat who had assembled to listen to senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad in Qazigund town had to return disappointed after the latter postponed his visit.
Reports said that, Bhat, the party candidate for Divsar constituency, had organised a rally in Qazigund town and Azad was expected to address the same. “Thousands of his workers had assembled at the venue to listen to Azad. However after waiting up to 4 pm they were told that Azad’s chopper had failed to land due to poor visibility,” reports said.
A local journalist, who had rushed to cover the rally said that the party candidate who had organised the rally later apologised to his workers for making them wait for Azads arrival.
“Azad sahab did not postpone his visit deliberately. There was poor visibility in the Pirpanchal area due to which his chopper could not land.  I apologised to my workers and assured them of their meeting with Azad sahab very soon,” Bhat told Kashmir Reader.
