SRINAGAR: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday called on Chief Engineer Maintenance and Rural Electrification (MRE) Bashir Ahmad Khan demanding uninterrupted of power supply during winters
In a statement issued by the Chamber,the matters that were discussed during the meeting included restoration of power supply in the flood hit areas, procurement of additional power to augment the shortage during winter months, minimal load shedding, uninterrupted power supply in commercial areas, upgrading of street lights, upgrading of infrastructure, control of pilferage, adjustment of charges of September bills wrongly billed, immediate restoration of power supply during snowfall.
Khan briefed the delegation about the restoration of flood hit infrastructure and the departments continued effort for renovation and up gradation of the complete network under R-APDRP and HVDS.
He also informed that Aerial Bunch Cable system is being put in place to ensure round the clock power supply Khan appreciated the public interest concerns expressed by the Chamber and assured that the issues discussed will be addressed effectively.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, President along with members of office bearers, Past President KCCI, and Hashmat Qazi Superintending Engineer MRE.
