Geelani appeals employees, businessmen to donate money

Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Sunday appealed employees and businessmen to donate money for relief purposes in his account for the people who were affected during the devastating September floods
In a statement circulated to the media, Geelani appealed fruit dealers, transporters and people associated with the sports industry apart from employees and businessmen to show generosity and deposit their donations in A/C 0385010100001231 JK Bank Hyderpora.
Meanwhile, continuing with its relief work Geelani distributed cheque of Rs 10 thousand and a kit to each of the 50 families of district Budgam and Pulwama, who were hit by the floods.
Thanking contributors for donating generously in relief work, Geelani said that the flood-affected people deserve help, sympathy and care. “It was a catastrophe and almost the whole state was devastated in deluge. But it is regretful that instead of taking steps for rehabilitation or improvement, state authorities and pro-Indian political parties jumped into election fray,” said Geelani.
He also criticised the arrest of Mohammad Ayoob Khan ex Hurriyat (G) Tehsil president of Pulwama.
