Srinagar: To lend helping hand to the flood-hit students, Kashmir University’s Law and Institute of Kashmir Studies Saturday organized an a fund raising event ‘Ittefaq’ in the convocation complex of the varsity.
The ‘Ittefaq’ event was a voluntary effort by the students and was marked by the performance of singers and showcase of a documentary.
The organisers of the event said, “While floods damaged structures, we shouldn’t forget students lost books. In order to provide them study material, we have organized this event to raise funds for them.”
Organisers said that it is just a voluntary initiative and no KU official is involved. “We are doing it on our own and sold 1300 tickets,” the organisers said. They event saw performances by singer Waheed Jeelani, ghazals by Nazir Ganaie, and screening of a documentary.
