SRINAGAR: Syed Ali Geelani, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Sunday asked the BJP to hold plebiscite in Kashmir if they are certain that most pro-freedom leaders of Kashmir want to be a part of India.
Geelani in a statement said, “I ask BJP leader Ram Jethmalani to identify those pro-freedom political leaders that want to be with India. If he is true then India in no case should delay plebiscite.”
He said, “We are pursuing right to self-determination and have out rightly rejected four point formula presented by Pervez Musharraf.”
Geelani also condemned the move of pro-India parties for inducting tainted and “killer officers” in their parties. “Pro-India politics is based on selfishness and the parties are sworn enemies of people of Jammu and Kashmir. They do not follow any principal and have no criteria and welcome all those with criminal background. It illustrates that all political parties have now turned into a band of assassins,” Geelani said.
He said that the memories of brutalities are still fresh in the minds of people and they cannot forgive and forget those people who killed their dear ones. “By allowing them to come at the forefront, the pro-India parties are rubbing salt into our wounds and they should answer how they endorsed these notorious bureaucrats in their ranks as their hands are smeared with the blood of thousands of innocent Kashmiri people.”
