4 CRPF men injured in Qazigund ambush

ANANTNAG: Four CRPF troopers were injured in an attack by suspected militants on Saturdaynear Levdora in Qazigund area of south Kashmir.
The attack took place at around6:30pm outside tourist reception centre Levdora on Srinagar-Jammu highway.
The injured troopers, posted with 163 battalion, were immediately evacuated to Emergency Hospital Qazigund, where they were given first aid. They were referred to various hospitals in Srinagar later.
Three of the injured were identified as assistant sub-inspectors Mohinder Singh, Ajay Dev Singh and driver Mohammad Arif.
Deputy inspector general of police (south Kashmir) Aloke Kumar said that the militants had laid an ambush in the area and attacked the CRPF gypsy as soon as it reached near TRC.
“After carrying out the attack the militants managed to flee from the spot. The area has been cordoned off and searches are on to nab the attackers,” Kumar told Kashmir Reader.
