Kashmiri youth missing in New Delhi


Baramulla: A 26 year-old Kashmiri youth has gone missing in New Delhi since October 22 with police saying that they are in constant touch with Delhi police.
Kifayat Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Sadiq Khan of Rampora village of Uri had gone to New Delhi with his truck on October 18. According to his cousin Hafiz Khan, Kifayat on October 22 went to Azadpur mandi but did not return.  Kifayat’s driver immediately informed his relatives about his disappearance. Following the disappearance news Kifayat’s brothers immediately boarded the next plan to New Delhi and launched a search hunt, Hafiz said.
“They lodged a missing report in Azadpur police station. But they haven’t been able to find any traces of him,” said he.
On Saturday Kifayat’s family members took the streets and blocked traffic movement on Srinagar Muzafarabad road from 7 am to 11am.
Station House Officer Boniyar Mureed Hussain said, “I personally talked to SHO Azadpur Dinash Kumar and he assured me that they are searching him.”
Meanwhile people of Narvaw Sheeri Baramulla observed a shutdown on Saturdayagainst the killing of a Kashmiri truck driver Altaf Ahmad Sheikh who was killed by unknown gunmen two days ago in Gurakhpour district of Utter Pradesh.
