Srinagar: The state government Saturday constituted a four-member committee headed by Chief Secretary regarding providing assistance or release of funds from the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
Besides the Chief Secretary as chairman, the members of the panel include Principal Secretary to the Government, Planning and Development Department, Principal Secretary to the Government, Finance Department, and Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department.
The panel has been tasked to scrutinize the proposals /recommendations received from the Divisional Commissioners/Deputy Commissioners regarding providing of assistance/release of funds from the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
Besides, it will issue guidelines governing the operation of the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund, a government order here said.
Following the devastating floods, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had appealed to all, especially MPs, MLAs and employees of the state to donate as much as they can for those affected to the J&K Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
