Haj 2014: Ist batch of pilgrims to return home tomorrow

SRINAGAR: The first batch of Haj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir will land at Srinagar airport on Saturday, October 11.
In connection with the arrangements with regard to the arrival of the pilgrims, the Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Salma Hamid convened a meeting of divisional officers for ensuring adequate arrangements to facilitate their arrival and subsequent smooth journey to their destinations, an official spokesman said Thursday.
During the deliberations, the Additional Commissioner directed the officers that adequate facilities including providing of accommodation, boarding and lodging, uninterrupted electricity, safe drinking water, sanitation in and around the Haj House and better transport facilities from airport to the Haj House and to their destinations should be provided to all pilgrims at the airport including for those from Jammu and Ladakh regions.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Director Airport Authority, Joint Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Joint Director Information, Kashmir, Shafqat Iqbal, Senior Superintendent of Police Budgam, Haj Officer Srinagar, representative of Police department and other officers, the spokesman added.
