Malik visits flood-hit Shaheed Gunj

Srinagar: Distributing relief in Shaheed Gunj area chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik Friday expressed shock at the devastation caused in the area.
Malik, while giving relief to flood hit areas said, “Shaheed Gunj is totally devastated by the flood and about 1200 families living in this area are compelled to live under open skies as their residential houses have been shattered.
He said, “The scale of destruction and mayhem caused by recent floods is of such a scale that we need international support and aid to get out of this situation.”
He said, “UN has a relief, rescue and rehabilitation cell in place for such times and whenever disasters hit any area, international community, UN and OIC rushes to help the affected people.”
Malik also thanked Indian people for their support, “We are thankful to our Sikh brethren, and people of India and their voluntary organizations for providing relief material. I thank SSN Logistic Pvt. Ltd for sending relief for the flood-affected people of Kashmir. I also thank CEO of the company Sahil Barua and others for their generosity.”
