Baramulla: The department of Roads and Buildings Thursday closed the unsafe SRTC footbridge, which connects old town and civil line areas, second time in the town.
The SRTC footbridge was recently damaged during the flash floods in the area. Later the officials of R&B department closed it for public by erecting tin sheets and iron. But due to unavailability of any alternate road people removed the tin sheets and used it for pedestrian movement. But on Thursday R&B once again closed the bridge and declared it unsafe for people’s movement.
Talking to Kashmir Reader an official of the department said, “ Floods damaged the bridge and is unsafe for people to walk on this. From now onwards if people walk and anything untoward happens the department is not responsible for it.”
