CAPD official arrested for black-marketing of sugar

Baramulla: Police Thursday claimed to have arrested an official of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution in Kupwara for illegally selling the sugar to a shopkeeper.
A police official said, “On a specific information Kralpora police under the supervision of SHO Tanveer Ahmad raided a truck JK01P/8146 near Thandi Kupwara on Karnah road and recovered about 6 quintals of sugar.”
He said, “Police arrested Ghulam Hassan and Parvaiz Ahmad on the spot. While Hassan is the supervisor of the area Parvaiz is a local shopkeeper.”
“During investigation it was found that the supervisor sells the sugar meant for general public to Parvaiz,” said the police official.
A case against both the accused has been registered and both have been put behind the bars.
