Srinagar: Appealing people to celebrate upcoming Eid-ul-Azha in austere way, chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik on Monday said that Kashmir is in mourning.
Distributing relief that included rice, cereals, mustard oil, blankets, clothes, spices and medicine to the people at Lasjan, Lal Mandi, Wazir Bagh and Tengpora bypass, Malik said, “Kashmir is in a state of mourning and we cannot show complacency towards our flood affected brethren.”
He said, “We cannot celebrate our marriages and other moments by bursting fire crackers and demonstrate pride in these days of national grief and mourning.”
Malik said, “It is our duty to work for the welfare of those who have been devastated by recent floods and if we are not able to help, at least we should be simple in our day to day life and express solidarity with our affected brothers and sisters.”
The Front chairman appreciated the efforts of youth and said, “It was our youth force that saved tens of thousands in every locality and Mohalla and we all are proud of these heroes.”
Meanwhile vice-chairman JKLF Mushtaq Ajmal along with zonal president Noor Mohammad Kalwal and leaders Noor Mohammad Katjoo and Mushtaq Gabroo participated in the funeral prayers of party’s zonal
organizer’s brother in law Abdul Rashid Bakhoora of Rainawari.
