Srinagar: A prosecution witness was cross-examined Wednesday in a case involving the murder of a British woman allegedly by a Dutch national in a houseboat here last year.
Richard de Wit was present before the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar when the witness was cross examined. The witness, officials said, had sold the knife to the Dutchman.
24-year-old British tourist Sara Elizabeth Rose was killed inside the houseboat in the Dal Lake on April 6 last year.
Richard was arrested from the main town Qazigund while trying to flee Kashmir. After filing a case (FIR No. 40/2013) at police station Ram Munshi Bagh, the police found him guilty of the crime and accordingly filed the charge sheet.
