SRINAGAR: With a view to improve quality and safety of power supply to its esteemed consumers and create safe working environment for its staff involved in operation and maintenance of system, J&K Power Development Department has taken up number of training programs for Junior Engineers, Technicians and Linemen, an official spokesperson said on Tuesday.
To achieve this objective both in-house training programmes and programmes sponsored by Central Institute of Rural Electrification (CIRE) Hyderabad have been organized jointly by the Office of Development Commissioner and Training, Testing, Inspection and Commissioning (TTIC) Wing of the department.
Since June a number of such training programmes have been organized till date, Power Development Commissioner, Asgar Ali Majaz said.
He said two days training programme for Technicians and Linemen on ‘Safety, Accident Prevention and Disaster Management’ at Badgam from 26th to 27th June, 2014. 25 linemen and technicians participated in the training programme. Similar training programme conducted at Bijbehara from 11th to 12th Aug’ 2014 where 25 linemen and technicians participated. Training programme for Jr. Engineers regarding ‘Customer Care & Billing, and Meter Data Management (MDM)’ at Bemina Srinagar on 13th Aug’ 2014 with 30 participants. Training programmes for Jr. Engineers regarding ‘Protection and Relay Setting of 220kV & 132kV level grid substations’ on 20th Aug’2014 at Gladni Jammu and Bemina Srinagar with 30 participants in each programme Training programme on ‘Metering and protection of 33/11kV receiving stations’ organized by Er. Bashir Ahamd Baba, S.E South Circle at Bijbehara on 26th and 27th Aug’ 2014 with 45 participants. (7) Linemen Training Programme conducted in Bemina Srinagar from 25th Aug to 28th Aug. Two days training programme for Technicians and Linemen on ‘Safety, Accident Prevention & Disaster Management’ in Town Hall Ganderbal from 29th to 30th August, 2014. 25 linemen and technicians participated in the training programme.
