SRINAGAR: The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute, Government of India (J&K), organised a one day programme on self employment opportunities in collaboration with Government Polytechnic run by Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora, a varsity spokesperson Tuesday said.
The aim of the programme was to motivate the youth for taking up self-employment, the spokesperson said.
Prof AG Rather, Registrar, IUST was Chief Guest on the occasion, while the Director, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute, Government of India (J&K) Virender Sharma was the Guest of Honour. The event was presided over by Prof AR Mattoo, Dean School of Business studies-IUST. Experts from DIC, Pulwama, Lead Bank, and KVIB participated in the event. The experts gave information regarding various schemes available for setting up an enterprise and explained various procedures for facilitating easy approach for availing these schemes. The experts responded to various queries and clarification raised by the participants during interactive session. The Director MSME-DI offered to setup an incubation centre in IUST campus for facilitating the prospective entrepreneurs in planning and establishment of units. Earlier Er. S SA Rufai, Principal, Government Polytechnic IUST welcomed the dignitaries and Vote of Thanks was presented by Er. Perwaiz Ahmed Rather, Head of Department, Government Polytechnic, IUST.
