Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) held an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to debate and pass the draft amendments of its Articles of Association, according to statement issued by the chamber.
“It was appreciated in the meeting that the long pending amendments to the constitution of the KCC&I was finally completed and placed before the EGM,” general secretary KCCI, Syed Musadiq Shad said. “The amendments of the constitution have been drafted by a standing Constitution Amendment Committee of the KCCI which took more than a year to moot all proposed amendments to various sections of constitution meticulously.”
Shah said the final draft amendments had been first passed in the Special Executive Committee meeting of KCCI held on October 28, 2013 and have now been adopted formally in the EGM according to the provisions of the Companies Act with modifications wherever so required in some of the clauses. The new constitution will come in effect immediately.
The meeting was presided by president KCCI Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad. Besides general members Past President GM Dug, Nazir Ahmad Bakshi, Dr Mubeen Shah and Abdul Hamid Punjabi were also present in the EGM.
