Student drowns in Handwara

Baramulla: A class 9th student drowned Sunday in north Kashmir’s Handwara area while he was taking a bath in a local pond, police said.
According to police Imtiyaz Ahmad Jungle son of Ghulam Muhammad Jungle of Nabzab area of Handwara drowned in a local pond when he along with other boys were taking a bathe. Police and Fire Services started the rescue services and retrieved the body. After the legal formalities the body was handed over to the family, police said.
On Saturday a three-year-old baby girl Sadiya daughter of Wali Mohammad Mir of Dardsan Kralpora Kupwara also drowned in the stream and died.
Meanwhile police found a body of an 80 year-old Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh of Thandipora Lolab Kupwara near the forest area. A case has been registered and police has started the investigation.
