Baramulla: Scores of employees of the Education Department Saturday staged protests here in this north Kashmir town against the ongoing Israeli aggression in Palestine.
The employees under the banner of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) assembled in the compounds of mini secretariat and held a protest demonstration against the relentless air strikes by the Israeli forces in Gaza that has left over 300 dead and thousands wounded.
Wearing black ribbons and chanting pro-Palestine, anti-Israel, anti-US slogans, the employees marched through different areas of the town before reaching the office of Deputy Commissioner, where a memorandum was submitted.
“We condemn the genocide of Gazans by the Israeli occupation forces. It’s unfortunate that innocent civilians are being murdered ruthlessly and the world nations are watching this bloodshed as mute spectators,” president, teachers forum, Baramulla Mohammad Rafiq Rather said, while addressing the protesters.
He urged the Muslim countries to extend all help to the besieged Gazans besides launching an effective boycott campaign against Israel.
