Police officer doesn’t apologise to minister’s brother; suspended

SRINAGAR: A police officer has been placed under suspension for not apologizing to the brother of a senior ruling National Conference leader and Cabinet minister.
Police sources said that Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Bhagyas, Syed Waseem Jehangir, was suspended after he refused to tender apology to the brother of Minister of Rural Affairs and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar.
The officer had entered into the house of Sagar’s brother while chasing a group of youth during anti-Israel protests in Nawab Bazaar area of the Old City on Thursday.
“He refused to tender apology, and for that he was placed under suspension. How do we know that the house belonged to the minister’s brother,” a senior police officer told Kashmir Reader.
