Council Panel reviews working of R&B department

SRINAGAR: The Department Related Standing Committee-III of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Friday reviewed the functioning of R&B department here under the Chairmanship of MLC, Ghulam Nabi Monga.
Legislators, Bashir Ahmed Magray and Dr Shahnaz Ganai attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions for completion of ongoing projects of R&B department and its allied sectors.
Threadbare discussion was held on the status of works done on Mughal Road besides the functioning of R&B department.
While discussing the issues related to pending works on roads and bridges, the Committee stressed upon the concerned officers to complete the same in a time bound manner so that the benefit reaches people in time.
The Committee directed the officers of JKPCC, ERA, NABARD and other agencies to accelerate the pace of work on Chandanwari, Jula, Gingal bridges in Uri and other major roads and projects in Kashmir Division.
Commissioner Secretary, R&B, Tanvir Jehan briefed the Committee about the pace of ongoing projects in Kashmir Division besides physical and financial achievements of the department.
Director Planning, Tariq Ahmed, Director, Finance, Shagufta Qazi, Managing Director, JKPCC, P L Bhushan, Chief Engineer, R&B, Satish Razdan, besides officers and officials of concerned departments and Council Secretariat also attended the meeting.
