Panel formed for setting up Vet varsity

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday sanctioned the constitution of an eight-member committee to examine setting up of a separate veterinary university in the state.
The committee, according to a government order, will be headed by Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir, and will submit its recommendation within one month.
The other members include Administrative Secretary Planning and Development Department, Administrative Secretary Finance Department, Vice Chancellor SKUAST, Administrative Secretary Agriculture Production Department, Administrative Secretary Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department, Professor Saleem Iqbal (HoD Veterinary Physiology SKUAST, Srinagar), and Professor Pramod Baru (OSD to Vice Chancellor SKUAST, Jammu).
“The committee will be serviced by Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department,” the order said.
