Cabinet approves proposal for operationalization of new administration units

SRINAGAR: The state Cabinet which met here Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah approved the recommendations made by the High Power Committee headed by the Chief Secretary for examining the proposals of different departments regarding creation of posts and necessary infrastructure for the New Administrative Units.
The Cabinet approved the creation and operationalization of New Administrative Units viz 46 Sub Divisions, 135 Tehsils, 177 C. D. Blocks, 301 Niabats and 2576 Patwar Halqas.
It approved the creation of 5860 posts out of which 181 are under Gazetted category and remaining under Non Gazetted category by corresponding adjustment of 2187 posts out of overall strength of Revenue and Relief Department.
The Cabinet approved the creation of infrastructure for the new units in a phased manner as per the recommendations of the High Power Committee.
The Cabinet also approved the allotment of funds to the tune of Rs. 63.22 crore for making these New Administrative Units immediately operational.
