Pro-India politicians are today’s Hari Singhs: Geelani

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Sunday said that in 1931 Kashmir had only one Hari Singh to deal with “but today every pro-Indian politician is proving Hari Singh for Kashmiris.”
In a statement, Geelani while paying tributes to the martyrs of July 13 said, “In 1931 there was only one Hari Singh riding our backs and today every pro-Indian politician is proving Hari Singh for the common Kashmiri and they are massacring the people of their own nation by becoming the helping hands of the oppressors.”
“Nothing has changed in Kashmir. People were shouldering the funerals of their children in 1931, and these incidents happen every day today,” Geelani said
Terming the laying of garlands on the martyrs’ graveyard by Omar Abdullah, Mufti Sayeed and other pro-India politicians as “hypocrisy and cunningness,” Geelani said, “Today pro-Indian politicians are doing worse than what Dogra rulers did and they are acting like Mir Jaffars and Mir Sadiqs in helping the forced occupation instead of helping their own nation.”
Geelani also condemned the house arrest of pro-freedom leadership including Tehreek-e-Hurriyat general secretary Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Dr Ghulam Mohammad Ganai, and Raja Meraj-ud-Din.
