Parties claiming allegiance to martyrs have betrayed them: Geelani

SRINAGAR: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani Saturday said that pro India arties who claim allegiance to the July 13, 1931 martyrs have actually betrayed their blood.
Geelani blamed all pro-India parties especially Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah’s National Conference for sell out and betrayal. “After the July 13, 1931 killing, Muslim Conference came into being in 1932 to secure the rights of people and in order to fulfil the mission of these martyrs. But unfortunately MC was converted into secular NC in 1938 so as to divert the direction of the freedom movement,” said Geelani in video conference talk while addressing the seminar ‘Martyrs Day’ organised by Hurriyat Conference Jammu.
Hurriyat (G) chairman reminded people that the cause of 1931 martyrs  is still incomplete and unfinished. “Today let us all take pledge that the mission which was started in 1931 by these martyrs will be taken to its logical conclusion,” Geelani said.
“Kashmir is an alive and whole world knows it is a disputed. The mission of thee martyrs are alive and we promise them that we will not betray their sacrifices,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion chairman HCJK Shabir Ahmad Shah pledged that the mission of July 13 martyrs will never be allowed to deviate.
“Now this is the responsibility of ours to keep this mission alive. We don’t need to be disappointed. There are ups and downs in every movement but we will succeed at last,” he said.
He also blamed pro-India parties for the betrayal. “They claim that they are the heirs of these martyrs but after restricting people to their houses they will lay floral wreaths on their graveyards. These pro-India parties have no right to pay tributes to these martyrs,” said he.
Commenting on the recent reports of the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits, Shah said, “New Delhi in disguise of settlement of KPs has plans to settle RSS people in the Valley.”
HCJK chairman also said that Modi government is planning to give rights to nine lakh refuges in Jammu in order to change the demography of the state.
Among others who spoke on the occasion were senior pro-freedom leader and member of Hurriyat Conference JK, Nayeem Khan, senior leader Mahaz-e-Azadi, Mohammad Iqbal, Muslim League activist, Fayaz Ahmad Salafi, Chairman Islamic Political Party, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (R) Farooq Ahmad Dar, General Secretary Hurriyat Conference (G) Ghulam Nabi Sumji and others.
