Cross—LoC traders demand action against guilty officials

SRINAGAR: The authorized Cross LoC traders Thursday sought action against the officials allegedly involved in allowing an unlisted goods truck to cross over to the other side.
“We have heard that a trader, who is not included in the list of authorized traders, was allowed to take his truck across LoC. And it is being said that a hefty amount was taken from him by the officials for allowing him,” convener of the Poonch-LoC traders Rajeev Tandon told Kashmir Reader.
“We have talked to civil and police authorities about it, but they have information. We want that whosoever is involved in the act shall be punished,” he said.
Tandon said the traders have submitted a contempt application in the court against the trader and the officials. “There is a court case going on, and the list of the registered traders is with the court. So it is contempt of court if someone not part of the list is allowed to cross LoC with his goods,” Tandon said.
