Srinagar: Lt Gen Subrata Saha, GOC 15 Corps, on Wednesday visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
An army spokesman in a statement said Gen Saha visited Keran, Mandian, Kundian and Patra in the Keran Sector. “The GOC also interacted with senior respectables in the area to reconnect with the jubilant residents of villages in the Keran Sector,” the statement said.
The GOC met with the senior army officers deployed in the area and reviewed the overall situation along the LoC.
“The people were appreciative of initiatives being taken by the army for their security and wellbeing. The GOC extended his best Ramzan-ul-Mubarak wishes to all present which included Abdul Kabir Bhat, Sarpanch and Fateh Ayub Ali Khan, Nambardar of Keran village,” the spokesman said.
“GOC also took the opportunity to visit Vocational Training Centre and met the students and staff. The students expressed their gratitude for the efforts of army for running the institute,” the spokesman added.
