SRINAGAR: Telecommunications service providers Vodafone will donate one paisa out of every call or recharge and Rs 5 out of every new activation in the Kashmir province during the entire month of Ramadan.
The company will tie-up with the Sakhawat Centre run by Iqbal Memorial Trust , utilizing the donations for education of underprivileged children.
Extending Ramdaan greetings to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Asit Shekhar, Business Head, Punjab, HP and J&K, Vodafone India, said, “At Vodafone India, we strive hard to be a meaningful member of the society we operate in by contributing to its development and betterment in all possible ways”.
He said, “We run different initiatives which are aimed at promoting greater good, be it helping the poor, protecting the environment or supporting women empowerment. Last year’s we had collected nearly Rs 5 lakh to support the education of underprivileged children.”
Vodafone again this holy month take steps towards the education of children. The initiative allows Vodafone customers in Kashmir to be a part of this noble cause without putting a burden on their pockets.
Further, realising that the people who observe fast during Ramdaan talk as little as possible during the day, Vodafone has introduced Night Bonus cards to enable them to contribute to this noble cause. These packs give Vodafone customers a chance to express their spirit of giving after they have broken their fast for the day.
The Bonus cards include Rs 7 with 1- day validity for unlimited V2V calls between midnight to 6 am. Similarly Rs 17 gives 10 days validity and free 250 local V2V minutes between 11 pm to 6 am and Night Data Pack, Rs 8 for 1 GB Data between midnight to 6 am with one day validity.
Vodafone has also launched VAS packs for Ramdhan to help people connect with God during their busy schedule, including Quran Alerts, Live portal for Naat’s & Dua, Special portal 12387 for Naat & Dua Caller tunes, Live feed from Mecca, Medina & Haji Ali.
