BANDIPORA: In view of Ramadhan-ul-Mubarak, market checking has been intensified on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr. Shah Faisal. The checking squad comprises of Police, Municipality and Revenue officers headed by Executive Magistrate inspected various markets of Bandipora Town.
During the inspection, a fine of Rs. 2150/- was realized as fine from 20 erring shopkeepers found violating various provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, besides 1.50 quintals of rotten vegetables and about 7.5 Kgs of polythene carry bags were destroyed on the spot.
The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora has directed the market checking squad for conducting regular checking’s and take action against the violators.
Ensure adequate supply of essentials during Ramadhan
POONCH: Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mumtaz Ali Chowdhary, on Saturday convened a meeting of District Officers, representatives of civil society and heads of various religious organizations to finalize the arrangements for the holy month of Ramadhan.
Dy SP Headquarters, Deepak Digra, District Officers of PDD, PHE, CAPD, Legal Metrology, Municipal Council and heads of various religious institutions and representatives of civil society were present in the meeting.
The ADC directed PDD officials to ensure uninterrupted power Supply and avoid curtailment during Iftaar and Sehri time in all parts of the District. Besides, XEN PHE was also directed to ensure regular supply of clean drinking water. Assistant Director, CA&PD was directed to ensure sufficient availability of rice, atta, sugar and kerosene oil at all depots. The Executive Officer, Municipal Council was asked to ensure cleanliness especially around the mosques It was decided in the meeting that CAPD, Revenue, Legal Metrology and Food Safety departments shall keep a regular check on the quality of mutton, chicken, vegetables, fruits and other eatables.
He also assured the representatives of civil society and religious organizations that a committee, consisting of concerned officers, will regularly check the markets against any food adulteration and exorbitant prices of essential commodities.
